10 Xbox exclusives we would like to see – review

All games that are confirmed for the Xbox Series X or are likely to see the light on the new Microsoft console.

Microsoft will launch a new console at the end of the year Xbox Series X and change his approach to exclusives. At least the first time, all games for the next generation will be released in the current Xbox One, and of course on Windows 10. We’ve put together ten games you’d like to see on the Xbox Series X.

Confirmed for Exit

Halo infinite

Let’s start with those games that have already been confirmed. The first of them was Halo Infinite. The sixth part of the cosmic epic will not only continue the story of Master Chief, but will also give it much more attention than Halo 5, where a lot of time was given to Spartan Locke. Also, Halo Infinite should return the co-op and multiplayer on a split-screen. The trailer is a little higher on the game engine – so you can conclude from it how the early projects for the Xbox Series X will look.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II

The second game, which will definitely be released on the new console, is Senuas Saga: Hellblade II. The first part was an unusual experiment: Ninja Theory in it combined AAA quality with bold solutions for indie games. However, after the release of the game, the studio lost its independence. In 2018, it was acquired by Microsoft, and the second part of Hellblade is now made with the money of a large publisher.

Do you need a Hellblade sequel? A moot point. Recall that the original game was about a trip to his inner hell, about overcoming the heroine’s own injury. And in the finale she reached catharsis, coped with her loss and reconciled with the voices inside. What could be the continuation? This we will know soon. On the Microsoft console release, the game does not promise and, quite possibly, we will receive answers to questions only in 2023, or even later.

Come out for sure

Everwild

Of those releases that are not officially announced for the new console, but are likely to come out on it, we’ll be the first to select Everwildnew game from Rare. It is presented so far only by the trailer, which was shown in mid-November 2019. Now the release is announced on Xbox One and Windows 10. But, given that there is not even an approximate release date, most likely the game will go to Series X.

Unfortunately, what it will be devoted to, one can only guess. So far, the developers promise only unforgettable adventures in a magical and yet very natural world, and the trailer focuses on the fauna. Will it be an animal friendship RPG? Everything is possible!

Gears 6

The next game we are waiting for on Series X is pretty obvious. Gears 6. Like Halo, this is a required release for all Xbox. And the fifth part requires continuation. It ended with a cliffhanger: heroes are doing very poorly, and a new threat almost crushed humanity. How will Kate Diaz and Marcus Phoenix save the long-suffering planet Sera? We will know for sure – but, perhaps, only in a few years.

Forza Motorsport 8 / Forza Horizon 5

Of the same completely obvious series, let’s recall Forza Motorsport together with Horizon. Racing from Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games have not missed a single Microsoft console. For those who are very far from games, we’ll explain that Motorsport can be conditionally classified as a professional circuit racing, and Horizon is about freedom in the open world. What the new parts will be about is obvious: more cars, more tracks and cooler graphics.

Fable 4

It’s much more interesting what the new one will be. Fable. No one has officially spoken about the revival of the series, but there are more than enough hints. In 2017, the developers of Forza Horizon 4, Playground Games, announced plans to open a division that will deal with “open-world games, but not racing.” In 2018, Microsoft buys the studio and is rumored to give it Fable. In the same year, the Playground opens up a bunch of vacancies on the topic of “developing an AAA-RPG with an open world” and employs nearly one and a half hundred employees. So there is every reason to believe in Fable 4. We hope that she will fulfill the legendary promises of Peter Molyneux.

If someone forgot what he was talking about before the release of the first part, we recall. The first is a world in which NPCs remember what the hero did for them and build their own relationships with him. Second – other adventurers can steal quests from the hero. Third, characters age, and trees grow in real time. Fourth, the hero can die for natural reasons, and his children will have to continue to complete quests. It is unlikely, of course, to realize all this, but the developers have something to rely on.

The Fable trilogy, released under the supervision of Peter, showed us how Albion has changed over the centuries, from the Middle Ages to the Industrial Revolution. If the tradition is continued, then perhaps the fourth part will unfold in a world inspired by Victorian England.

State of Decay 3

Another very likely project for Series X is State of Decay 3. And here the story is the same as with Fable. After the release of the first two survival simulators in the zombie apocalypse, Microsoft bought Undead Labs – and this is a direct way to continue the series on the new platform.

State of decay – first of all, not an action, but a game about gathering, resource management and protecting your base. You can recruit survivors you meet in your squad and even play for them, but death is permanent here. Gape during a sortie, and one person in the squad less. The first part of State of Decay was a single player game, the second offered an online co-op. The third, perhaps, will follow in the footsteps of Halo: Infinite and allow playing together on a split-screen.

Dreaming is not bad

The Bard’s Tale is back

Well, now let’s dream a little and think about what else could come out. Actually, stories will again revolve around Microsoft purchases. So, for example, recently the list has replenished inXile Entertainmentnow engaged in the development of multi-platform Wasteland 3. But she may well revive the one released in 2004 The Bards Tale. It was a parody action RPG, the hero of which quilted absolutely everything that he saw. And given that there are few high-budget comedies on the market, The Bard’s Tale is a great reference.

Brutal Legend 2

Another recent acquisition by Microsoft is Double Fine with a huge portfolio of vivid and memorable games, as well as with Tim Sheifer at the helm. And we really want him to manage to tackle the sequel to his biggest game – Brutal Legend. Yes, the rights to it belong EA, but she, apparently, didn’t really need them, because Brutal Legend was not profitable enough. And Double Fine has experience buying back Shafer’s old projects: she recently returned from Disney rights to classic quests from Lucas Arts.

Recall: Brutal Legend is a half-action, half-real-time strategy that takes place in the world of heavy metal. And Double Fine has already had ten years as drafts and blanks for a sequel that EA refused to finance. Let’s hope Microsoft decides otherwise.
