Xbox Series X turned out to be slightly more stable than PS5 in Resident Evil: Village demo – resolution and graphics are the same

A full gameplay demo became available on all platforms at night Resident Evil: Village… The introductory version includes segments with a castle and a village, which take 60 minutes to complete. You can play it until May 10.

The ElAnalistaDeBits channel, which has previously tested the demo on PS4 and PS5, released a similar video, in which I tested the performance of the game on consoles Xbox series s and Xbox series x

  • Ray tracing is enabled by default on PS5 and Series X. On Series S, it must be turned on manually;
  • The resolution on PS5 and Series X is the same. Both consoles run the demo at a fixed resolution of 2160p using a checkerboard rendering technique. Series S produces images at 1440p;
  • On Xbox versions, the lighting in the village area looks slightly warmer. PS5 sometimes gives too blue tint;
  • With ray tracing enabled, Series X outperforms PS5 slightly, showing slightly more stable performance, but for a more accurate result, you need to wait for the final version to be tested;
  • The Series S delivers an average of 40 FPS outdoors and about 45 FPS indoors with ray tracing enabled. Without beams, the console achieves near-stable 60 frames;
  • The raytracing quality in GI and reflections is the same everywhere. Shadows, textures and anisotropic filtering also look the same on all three consoles;
  • All systems provide fast boot times, but on PS5 this process takes a little less time, about 3 seconds versus about 7 seconds on Series X / S.
