Will Resident Evil 3 come out on Switch? Nintendo console mention found in remake demo code

Nintendo switch I have repeatedly proved that with the right approach to optimization, it’s able to “digest” even games such as The witcher 3. In this regard, an interesting finding of dataminers who noticed a remake in the demo code Resident evil 3 mention of the Nintendo hybrid system.

In particular, we are talking about lines of code associated with a notification about the need not to turn off the system on which the game is running during autosave. So among the listed platforms in the code there are not only Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, but also Nintendo Switch.

In addition, the code also contains links to digital stores where the full version of the game is sold, and among them there is eShop.

It could be assumed that parts of the code mentioning Switch and eShop were left from another game on the engine RE Engine, however, there are currently no such projects on Nintendo. At the same time, last year’s Resident Evil 2 remake showed that when manually configuring some configs, the game can be visually “rolled back” to run even on the most budget PC, which in the case of weak hardware Switch can become a way out of the situation.

The release of the updated Resident Evil 3 on the announced platforms will take place on April 3rd.
