Biggest streaming platform last week Twitch made a decision to remove emotions PogChamp from the official chat on the website. This happened after the streamer Ryan Gutierrezwhose face was used for “problematic“emouta, on his personal blog, left several messages that were interpreted as a call for violence amid a protest rally in support of Donald Trump.
Because emote PogChamp has for Twitch serious cultural significance, the resource management quickly began to look for a replacement. Soon a solution was found, and quite elegant – every day a kind of emotion PogChamp changed by the administration based on the appearance of various popular streamers. This idea appealed to a large part of the community, but quickly slipped into aggressive disputes.
The fact is that at some point a new face PogChamp became a streamer CriticalBard, also known as Omega Jones… Such preference from the outside Twitch immediately aroused indignation among some of the site’s visitors, since Jones can be called a scandalous person. The streamer supports quite radical ideas regarding issues of racism in relation to blacks, actively campaigns for the movement Black Lives Matter and is not shy about provocative statements about whites.

In particular, CriticalBard in his personal blog, he repeatedly noted that he “don’t care about white feelings“and left messages that many might find offensive.
Users tried to inform the administration Twitch essence of claims to CriticalBard, to which the streamer responded promptly. He did not give up his words, fearing a ban or other penalties, but made some even harsher statements, telling his viewers that, in his opinion, “white people’s lives are worthless“…
Of course, such speeches only added fuel to the fire. The scandal was actively discussed in social networks, including Twitter and Reddit… Now viewers are calling to block the channel CriticalBard on Twitch for racist statements.
Moreover, the administration Twitch until no reaction to what happened was noted – PogChamp with face CriticalBard can still be used in chat.
