Mundfish Studio has published on the official Discord channel Atomic heart a new part of the answers to the questions.
The main news: there will be a sequel to the game. At least the developers are sure of this. According to them, Atomic Heart is not just a “touchstone”, but a whole previously thought out universe in which dozens of new stories can be told.
“We literally tried to make the world so that there could be dozens of stories to tell. We believe in the success of the game and will continue to work on this universe. Atomic Heart 2 is to be.”
The authors separately pointed out a certain secret of the first part, buried in the layers of history, which many players will not attach importance to, but it is he who will be fully revealed in the sequel. There are hints of this already, and clues can be found in the E3 trailer.
“Some of it looks odd even for our unusual setting.”
Further, the developers confirmed that all pre-orders, which were issued back in 2018, remain in force, but taking into account the added versions for new consoles, users will now be able to choose the required platform themselves.
Also, the question was clarified with what is, or rather not is, Atomic Heart. The studio notes that this is not a classic horror or action-horror game like Resident Evil. There is more shooting in the game, but scary moments will also occur quite often.
“Formally, we do not do horror. But remember, for example, the forest from Fable or Ravenholm in Half-Life 2? You could do it out of fear! We want you to have the same. In general – yes, you will shoot more than be afraid, but you will also be afraid a lot! “.
The release of Atomic Heart is expected before the end of 2023. The project is in the process of being polished.
