Valorant contributors talked about the changes in the rank system in the second act – Igromania

First act Valorant is nearing completion, so the developers from Riot Games shared the rank system changes that await players in the second act of the competitive shooter.

With the release of the update, the rank will depend on the results of the top 9 ranked victories in the act and how many ranked victories in it players earned. If the players got to “Diamond”, but then switched back to “Gold”, then only the best result will remember their act rank.

As you play, the rank act will fill with small triangles. Each triangle represents ranked match wins. Victories at higher ranks will replace victories at lower ranks. The frame will also change after a certain number of wins: 9, 25, 50, 75 and 100.

Starting in Act 2, friends will be able to view each other’s match history, including matchmaking rank and progress towards Act rank. Progress towards the Act Rank Emblem can be checked on the Career page. The emblem will show the level of “Proven Mastery” (calculated based on the top 9 wins in Ranked Matches).

What to expect in Competitive Mode at the End of the Act:

  • The obtained rank of the act will be saved and recorded in the “Career” tab.
  • Matchmaking requires playing 3 matches, not 5 matches.
  • The ranking will be calculated according to the understatement system. In doing so, the authors will increase the impact of performance on rank in the early games so that players can quickly increase it.
  • Qualifying Matches will not count towards Act Ranking.

The developers are currently working on improvements to improve transparency and visibility of matchmaking rank changes. Towards the end of Act 2, the authors will share details of how they intend to improve the competitive mode.
