UploadVR: PSVR2 Helmet Get Built-in Vibration, 4K Display, and Eye Tracker with Foveal Rendering

New possible helmet details have appeared online PlayStation VR second generation.

According to several sources of the profile publication UploadVR, the new headset will receive a display with a resolution of 4000 × 2040 pixels (2000 × 2040 per lens), and one of the main features will be an eye tracker with foveal rendering… The technology will reduce the load on the GPU by displaying maximum image quality only in the focus areas of the view.

Also according to the information of the portal PSVR2 will acquire a mechanical adjustment of the distance between the lenses and vibration, with the help of which developers will be able to implement tactile feedback directly into the helmet. Several built-in cameras are mentioned for tracking the position of controllers, and connecting to Playstation 5 will be implemented with a single USB-C wire.

In February, Sony announced that it is working on a next-generation virtual reality system for the PS5, which will launch after 2023. A month later, the company introduced brand new headset touch controllers with adaptive triggers, tactile feedback, analog sticks and finger tracking.
