Top 5 anime with the most disappointing finals

When it comes time to say goodbye to your favorite characters, you unwittingly hope that parting will be a pleasant ending point for the whole trip. Unfortunately, this does not always happen. Below is a list of the five finals accepted by fans without extreme enthusiasm. Attention! Spoilers are possible!

5. – Bleach

It’s no secret that the mango Taito Kubo had a rather complicated relationship with the editors of Shounen Jump magazine, where Bleach has been published all these years. Even when Aizen, one of the main antagonists, was defeated, Kubo was forced to continue to introduce more and more characters into the story so that the manga could live on. All this resulted in a series of not the most memorable villains, while the forces of the warring parties were steadily growing. This continued until the series reached a rather abrupt end, after which readers still had a lot of questions. Unfortunately, the anime adapted the ending almost verbatim, which once again upset the fans.

4 – Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt / Panty & Stocking

Gainax studio anime endings rarely leave spectators indifferent. Some works end on a very high note, while others are less lucky. “Panty and Stocking” belong to the second category. In the series finale, several inexplicable events take place at once, and the culmination is the scene where one of the sisters divides the other into 666 parts, previously calling it the fiend of hell. Of course, the story did not receive the second season or at least some continuation. Questions are all that we have left.

3 – Ousama Game The Animation / Royal Game

A dubious drama that near the end turns into a parade of meaningless and ridiculous deaths. In the series finale, the heroes find the only sure way to help other people avoid the monstrous circumstances in which they find themselves. But, unfortunately, the selfless sacrifices of the central characters turn out to be completely crossed out the final scene. An open finale for the sake of an open finale and a mountain of disappointment.

2 – Danganronpa 3: The End of Kibougamine Gakuen – Mirai-hen / Danganronpa 3: End of School of Hope – The Future

The original anime, continuing the plot of the first two parts of the visual novel Danganronpa, did not receive the most positive reviews throughout its broadcast. But the series was brought to a complete collapse in the last two episodes, where the outline of the story awkwardly completed the plot arches begun earlier, and the dead characters confidently returned to life without any logical explanation. In general, the situation is similar to the “Royal Game”, only in the case of “Ronpa” the disappointment was disproportionately large, since over the years a rather large community of enthusiastic fans gathered around this title.

1 – Fairy Tail: Final Series / Fairy Tail

The large-scale saga Fairy Tail is rarely called an unsurpassed masterpiece, but over the years of its existence, the series has generated many vivid scenes, characters, events and villains. One of these was the dark magician Zeref, whose presence in the plot as a “gray cardinal” was felt throughout a significant part of the story. Unfortunately, by the time Zeref took a central role in the events, he had turned into the most ordinary, boring supervillain with an army of loyal subjects. Along with this, the usual heroes began to be sent stably to the next world, only to bring them back to life at the last moment, while the main conflict of the work became less and less fascinating. It is unlikely that the loyal audience threw the series in the middle, but the fact that they liked the finale was very doubtful.
