“There is no Batman”: Actor Val Kilmer remembered his role in the movie “Batman Forever”

The filmography of the actor Val Kilmer totals a lot of impressive works, but among them there is one well-known role, about which the artist today speaks completely unflattering. In 1995, in the film director Joel Schumacher entitled “Batman forever“Kilmer tried on a mask of the legendary superhero icon, presented to the audience in the image of a billionaire Bruce Wayne. Despite the commercial success of the film, the reviews from critics were mixed to say the least.

In recent extensive publication material The new york times, dedicated to Kilmer’s career, an actor fighting larynx cancer today shared his thoughts on what it would be like to play Batman on big screens. AND despite the fact that Kilmer had previously talked about the film in a negative way, in a fresh interview, a cinema legend identified another specific reason for his disappointment.

Kilmer recalls one day from the set, when the grandchildren of one of the sponsors of the film came to visit the training ground. The actor did not leave the image and remained in a suit to please the young fans. But instead children were much more attracted to scenery, Batman gadgets and other props, which greatly saddened Kilmer.

“That’s why there can be five, six Batmen in the world at the same time. The films are not about Batman at all. There is no Batman,” the artist concluded.

The last tape, in which Val Kilmer took part, now the film “Top Gun: Maverick” with Tom Cruisewhose premiere is scheduled for the end of this year. But the new Batman Robert Pattison, a tape with his participation has recently been rescheduled.
