The third part of The Last of Us already has a draft script – review addiction

Development manager and script co-author The Last of Us: Part II Neil Druckmann in a podcast interview Script Apart said that the third part of The Last of Us already has a draft script.

The plot explores what happens after the second part, and was co-written with Halle Gross, who co-wrote The Last of Us: Part II with Druckmann. While the third part is not in development, however, Druckmann hopes that one day it will see the light of day.

IN Naughty dog there was quite a lot of discussion about the third part, however Druckmann noted that creating such games requires a lot of work.

We now have two games that I think talk about something universal and also tell a very personal story for these characters.

You can’t get an idea of the franchise from just one game. With two games, a pattern begins to emerge. Now I feel like there is some structure and themes that will have to be followed when making the third game.

Druckmann noted that after working on a major game, the team takes a long break to explore different ideas. The studio can do the third part of The Last of Us or a new game, or go back to the old franchise.

I like to fully explore all the possibilities. What do we want to devote ourselves to as a studio? Because it’s a huge commitment in terms of money, time, passion, and talent. So you think about all the opportunity costs that come with it.
