The online era is killing teams in CS: GO – five rosters needing replacements right now

The online era of Counter-Strike took everyone by surprise – not everyone was ready for the endless quarantine, the absence of LAN tournaments and the constant stay at home. Yesterday’s champions began to fall apart before our eyes – it is time to correct the situation, and humanity has not yet invented a better medicine than reshuffle. Here are five teams that should consider updating their rosters.

MIBR

MIBR is doing the worst of the once great teams. The squad continues to drop in the HLTV.org rankings and looks set to hit bottom in March when the Brazilians were on the verge of dropping out of the top 30.

Perhaps the main problem of the squad lies in its average age, which is already 27.4 years. Gabriel FalleN Toledo, Fernando fer Alvarenga and Vito kNgV- Giuseppe although they often continue to pull out matches alone, they are not getting younger – they are unlikely to leave esports, but their playing career is nearing the end one way or another. Hence the club’s low results.

Despite a lot of problems, there are only two real candidates for replacement in MIBR (well, FalleN won’t leave its own project?). The first one is replacement Epitasio TACO de Melo… After returning from Team Liquid the Brazilian sank heavily according to statistics, fans on reddit drive him out of the team first. There really is some logic in this: TACO is an excellent player, but a hostage of the rough duties that were hung on him in MIBR. Melo is certainly capable of playing well, but apparently no longer in the FalleN team.

The second option is to keep looking for your fortune with the fifth player. Before joining MIBR Alenshard trk Rossato showed individual results on the verge between average and good, but in the stellar team his statistics deteriorated dramatically. And although the Brazilian still looks better than Ignacio Meyern Meyer, a place in the team is clearly not guaranteed to him.

Of course, there is a third option. But for it to come true, many stars must converge. Firstly, someone from the inseparable FalleN + fer pair must complete their playing career, and secondly, the MIBR management must decide on radical rearrangements. Let’s be honest: FalleN, fer and kNgV- can show results, but only against the middle peasants from North America – unfortunately, they are no longer able to compete at the highest level. No matter how hard FalleN tries to reanimate the two-time world champions, it has long failed.

When I left the team Wilton Zews Prado, he mentioned that the collective problem is rooted in his psychology and general approach to Counter-Strike. Yes, the description is too abstract, but it shows indignation with the model, in which FalleN and fer are considered the permanent MIBR players.

If FalleN is not yet tired of Counter-Strike, then the coolest option for him would be to become a coach and gather young and talented Brazilians for himself – in a word, follow in the footsteps Danny Zonic Sorensen… Potentially, this will help not only reanimate the MIBR brand itself, but also improve the community’s attitude towards the legendary FalleN, whose name has recently been remembered only in connection with scandals.

FaZe Clan

FaZe and eternal reshuffles – name a more legendary duo. Most recently, the team replaced the fifth participant again: in place Aurimasa Bymas Pipirasa, who could not get used to the new role, came Marcus Kjaerbye Kiebu… The team managed to hold only one tournament after the reshuffle and failed – at ESL One Cologne the Europeans did not rise above the 9-12th place.

Obviously, a pool of available options to strengthen the composition of Nikola NiKo Kovacs comes to the end. He has already tried to speak with representatives of the CIS, and with legends like Philip NEO Kubski, and with young talents. At the same time, the team always played according to one scenario: one or two good results, and then a series of painful defeats.

It is highly unlikely that Kjaerbye will be able to become to FaZe who TACO was to Luminosity Gaming / SK Gaming – and this is the kind of player that FaZe needs now. The roles of the main demage dealers in the team are already taken, there is not enough support. I could not become Olof olofmeister kayberAnd Bymas, accustomed to playing on the edge, could not become one either. Who will throw the flash drives Marcelo coldzera to David?

The most obvious option for NiKo is to take someone from the FACEIT Pro League players, from where the Bosnian is and has recently fished out talented esportsmen. But will the young shooters want to do the rough work, even in FaZe?

Another scenario is perhaps almost unbelievable. In it, NiKo resigns from his captain’s duties, and the team begins to look for an in-game leader. There are already a lot of options here, starting with the same Matthias MSL Lauridsen and ending with the conditional Finn Karrigan Andersenif the latter doesn’t get better at mousesports. Alas, one of the best options is Jonas Lekr0 Olofsson – FaZe has already missed.

Fnatic

It seems that Fnatic continues to make no headway. In mid-April, after winning the 11th season of the ESL Pro League, the team seemed to be one of the best in the world, but since then its results began to plummet.

Alas, Fnatic has lost the stability that the team had before the Krieg nerf. Now even Freddie KRiMZ Johansson periodically “throws”, not to mention other team members. The most difficult thing is to name one weak link, because everyone is at about the same level according to statistics.

Fnatic’s case is the most difficult because, as it seems from the outside, it has a clear balance. There is an inseparable star trio, there is a “young and talented” one, and there is an in-game leader – if one element is thrown out of this puzzle, the whole structure will not fit.

Judging solely by numbers, the team should consider looking for a replacement Jesper JW Bill or Robin flusha Ronquest – in the last three months, they look weaker than the rest. But to be honest, the world is still poorly represented in which one of them leaves Fnatic against their will.

The second option for Fnatic is to try their luck with the in-game leader again, but this seems to be a lost cause. Firstly, the team has already tried to do without Golden (it didn’t work), and secondly, there are few free (and strong) coordinators from Sweden on the market now. Again, Lekr0 might be the best option here, but it has already been intercepted North

Replacements can be expected for one simple reason – Fnatic really doesn’t like to lose. And rather the conditional flusha will leave the team on its own than continue to “sit on the salary” without trophies. In a word, a couple more failed tournaments, and it will be possible to wait for a reshuffle in the troubled Swedish kingdom.

Team Vitality

It is probably strange to see the leader of the world ranking according to HLTV.org in the list of candidates for the reshuffle, but the team is not as cloudless as it seems at first glance.

While Vitality is the most stable player in the online era of Counter-Strike, Vitality hasn’t won a single tournament. Moreover, in the last three championships, the French lost in the finals to three different teams – Heroic, BIG and Complexity Gaming… It seems Vitality lacks the smallest detail to become the undisputed leader.

There are only two potential candidates for replacement in Vitality. First – 17 years old Kevin Misutaaa Rabier, which has recently begun to play better, but still looks weaker than the rest of the team. Judging by the last blog Dana apEX MadecleraVitality is trying hard to help Rabier, but progress is very slow. It is unlikely that anyone will be surprised if in the next month or two they show him the door.

The second option is much more risky – to reconsider the role of apEX in the composition. Not to say that Team Vitality is a purely coaching team, but a very big responsibility in it lies with Remy XTQZZZ Konema. At first it seemed that he would only be ALEX’s assistant (with whom he had previously played in the same team), but eventually he became an indispensable link in Vitality. Now ALEX is not in the team, which means that the club can potentially build its roster around XTQZZZ – and in this configuration, a place for apEX in the roster is no longer guaranteed.

ApEX is a reluctant captain. Yes, he has repeatedly mentioned that he likes to make calls during matches, but does not see himself as a pure captain. Doesn’t it look like anything? The situation in Vitality was approximately the same with Nathan NBK Schmitt, who eventually left the team.

Of the two options, the most logical right now is the replacement misutaaa. But if the team does not improve after he leaves, the next time the questions will obviously be asked by apEX.

Natus Vincere

You can justify the painful defeats of NAVI as much as you want with “random online”, but the team’s results show a clear trend – Natus Vincere always plays very unstably with strong foreign teams. Isn’t it time to stop?

You can often find in the comments the opinion that the problem of NAVI lies in her best player. By signing Alexandra s1mple Kostyleva, the club itself doomed itself to the fact that it was Kostylev who would become the face of the organization for years to come – this probably has its own costs.

Be that as it may, now it is customary to focus on statistics. And on it, questions arise only to Egor flamie Vasiliev and Ilya Perfecto Zalutsky… This is not to say that both play so badly (much better than many top esports players), they just are not s1mple or electronic… According to the calculations of HLTV.org, over the past three months, flamie and Perfecto have the same rating – 1.01. The first kills a little more, and the second is generally a little more useful – their KAST ratio is 70.3% versus 73.1%.

Of course, there are questions to Kirill Boombl4 Mikhailov… Judging by Natus Vincere’s vlogs, he has no problems with calls, but statistically he is still far from the same gla1ve (although much better than the conditional Kevin kRYSTAL Amend). The pendulum can swing in any direction, so if Boombl4 wants to maintain a place in the team, he will have to work twice as hard.

It seems that NAVI are doomed to simply look for those in the team who, according to statistics, will not lag so far behind the star duo s1mple and electronic. Whether this is the right path is a question. But there are no other options yet.
