The Elder Scrolls Online (TESO) review (June 2017)

Review of online game The Elder Scrolls Online

For many years fans of the series The Elder Scrolls dreamed of an online version of their favorite project, because the project with such a rich lorry, gameplay and developments promised a lot of interesting and inspired well-founded hopes. The last game of the TES series, Skyrim, gained such popularity that online was coveted for most of the gaming community.

Event history

In all parts of the Scrolls, the story of the hero and the world in which he lives is a significant aspect of the game, and the Elder Scrolls Online decided not to depart from this principle: the story line is fascinating, occurs in different territories of Tamriel and suggests different variants of passage.

Chronologically, online game events precede Skyrim for about ten centuries. The main mission of the player is to return the stolen soul. Depending on the decision taken in a particular mission, the impact on the world around them can be different. Nevertheless, the players have the opportunity to help friends, regardless of their position.

Quests

As in most games, both single-player and multi-player, a considerable amount of time players will conduct quests, which in The Elder Scrolls Online represent an interesting combination of traditional tasks and investigations in the style of The Secret World, which means that the study of the world is gaining Of paramount importance.

The game world is quite open, even the most seemingly inaccessible mountains can be overcome, and non-player characters with assignments can be found in the most unexpected places.

The battle system

The combat system in the online version is similar to the other parts of the series. The left mouse button performs attacks, and the right one – blocking attacks. Active skills are set on hot keys, from 1 to 6. There is a run and stealth mode. The targeting system is a modified version of the classic Tab-target, which allows you to aim at enemies. All skills are tied to hot keys, from 1 to 6.

From the frequency of use of different equipment and weapons will depend on improving skills and the emergence of special abilities (and to any class all types of weapons and armor are available). Class skills have two directions of development.

Sieges

PvP in The Elder Scrolls Online is presented in RvR format, where the three factions are fighting for control of Cyrodiil. Each faction has its own territory, and Cyrodiil is a controversial area where all PvP battles take place. The goals of these battles are capture of control points, watchtowers and fortresses, and the sieges of the fortresses involve the participation of hundreds of players.

The main achievement of ZeniMax studio in the process of developing Elder Scrolls Online is that they managed to preserve the amazing and charming atmosphere of the cult single-player game, to recreate the rich and diverse world of Tamriel.
