The director of “Training Day” and “Lefties” will shoot a mini-series about Mike Tyson – the boxer will be played by Jamie Foxx

According to the publication Variety, a previously planned biopic about Mike Tyson with Jamie Foxx starring changed the format. Instead of a full-length film, viewers will see a mini-series.

The show was named “Tyson“and will be removed Antoine Fuqua, director of “Training Day”, “Arrow”, “The Great Equalizer”, “Lefty” and other films… He will also executive produce alongside Martin Scorsese, who was previously credited with the director’s chair.

It is reported that the series will take place throughout the life of the famous boxer, including personal life and professional career. In order to convincingly portray Tyson on the screen, Jamie Foxx is engaged in active physical preparation for the role.

There is no start date for filming and no release date yet.

Interestingly, in recent months, this is the second announced mini-series about Mike Tyson. Previously streaming service Hulu announced that he had ordered the production of an eight-part show about the boxer, but Tyson sharply criticized him, noting that the project was not coordinated with him and he was not participating in it in any way.
