The creators of Mafia 3 are looking for developers to produce a completely new IP

At the end of last year, the network was filled gossip that the studio Hangar 13who released a crime action movie in 2016 Mafia iii, working on the next part of the “Mafia” and the remaster of Mafia 2. But, apparently, what happened not so long ago changes and a new vacancy in the Brighton office of the company indicate that at present the management of Hangar 13 still has slightly different plans for their next project.

If you believe published on the official website of Hangar 13 vacancies, developers are looking for an executive producer who “would lead the development of a new key IP from Hangar 13”. The advantage for the candidate will be “experience in creating open world AAA games or sandboxes.”

After graduation Mafia 3 and post-release content, Hangar 13 remained silent for some time regarding its future project, but if believe Take-Two Interactive, the official details of the new studio game will appear in the foreseeable future. If it turns out that the team is working on a new IP, then fans of the Mafia series will have to wait a bit.

Despite the pretty good plot, Mafia 3 criticized mainly for the boring level design, somewhat outdated graphics and many technical problems. However, the story presented and the new protagonist carry the potential for releasing a sequel with significantly improved gameplay and more advanced visual effects. However, it is worth noting that work on a completely new IP does not necessarily refute the rumors about the existence of Mafia 4 and the remaster Mafia 2.

Hanger 13 is a subsidiary of 2K Games. The company’s employees are located in 4 offices in Brighton (UK), Prague, Brno (both Czech Republic) and Novato (USA). The studio was founded in 2014 by the former creative director of LucasArts Hayden Blackman. In 2016, Mafia 3 saw the light of day – the first studio game developed in collaboration with 2K Czech. Initially, the release of the project was supposed to take place for the seventh generation consoles (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3), but later there was a transfer to the current consoles and PCs.
