The creators of Gran Turismo Sport celebrated the centenary of Mazda – a new car and tests appeared in the game

Company Sony Interactive Entertainment released a new update for Gran turismo sport. The update was timed to the 100th anniversary of the Japanese automobile brand Mazda and added content related to this to the game.

The main value of the update is the Mazda RX-Vision GT3 concept car. Despite the presence in the name of the designation Vision, the novelty is not included in the Vision Gran Turismo series. In this case, Vision is a generic term for the automotive industry that is used for concept cars that showcase design and technology that could become part of the brand in the near future. GT3 is a racing version of the 2015 concept of the same name, developed Ikuo Maedoi – The person responsible for the current Mazda Kodo design philosophy. The novelty received a new generation rotational engine Skyactiv-R, which is planned to equip future models of the company.

In honor of the landmark event, the developers also added two special competitions for the Mazda RX-Vision GT3 to the GT Sport: a worldwide time trial and a competition for the best paint scheme. Read more about it here.

In addition to supporting Gran Turismo Sport, Polyphony Digital is currently developing a new game in the series. According to rumors, the authors are preparing a full-fledged seventh part, the name of which has surfaced on the net two times already in the last 24 hours. At first, one of the manufacturers of racing products licensed by the PlayStation wrote about the still unannounced game, and a few hours later the project was highlighted in a survey of the official Twitter account Playstation brazil, who asked users which of the proposed games they prefer to choose for joint gatherings. It later turned out that Gran Turismo 7 was mentioned by mistake and actually meant Gran Turismo Sport, although perhaps the Portuguese PlayStation team knows what we don’t know.
