“Thanks for the kind words”: Ubisoft commented on the incident in Montreal

Publishing House Management Ubisoft commented on incident in Montreal, in the center of which was the local office of the company. The statement was posted on social media.

We will remind, on November 13, the Canadian media reported that in the area of Boulevard Saint Laurent police special forces are conducting an operation. It was reported that armed attackers allegedly took over the office Ubisoft Montreal and took the staff of the publishing house hostage. They also showed footage from the roof of the building where people were barricaded.

However, then the information began to change. The journalists said that the special operation was connected with an armed robbery that took place in a nearby building. And then there was evidence that the police activity was associated with the incoming telephone threats.

As a result, information turned out false, but the police acted strictly according to protocol. Employees of Ubisoft Montreal took precautions, hiding on the roof and barricading themselves in the interior.

The press service of the publishing house thanked the team members for their courage. Separately, the professionalism of the representatives of law enforcement agencies, who resolved the crisis, was noted. Ubisoft also thanked the gaming community for their support and kind words.

Note that the actions of Ubisoft Montreal employees could be associated with the latest terrorist attacks in Europe, of which two occurred in France at once (in Nice and Avignon), and another incident at the French Consulate General in Saudi Arabia. The media also reported that several more terrorist attacks were prevented by the police.
