Square Enix Satisfied with Game Pass: Microsoft Service has done a great job in attracting audiences for Outriders

The decision to make a shooter Outriders available in Xbox Game Pass paid for itself on release day in terms of attracting players… This is the President Square Enix Yosuke Matsuda said at a briefing on the company’s results for the past fiscal year.

“Regarding the response to Outriders, even though there were some minor bugs and the like at launch, we think the new IP is off to a good start. In addition, we were pleasantly surprised by the high digital sales rate and the number of active users surpassed our expectations.

We think our decision to make Outriders available on Xbox Game Pass right out of the box worked in our favor as well. “

Square Enix reported last month that Outriders is on track to become the company’s next major franchise after a successful launch month in terms of player count.

Between April 1 and May 1, Outriders attracted over 3.5 million unique users, according to the publisher’s internal data, although a Game Pass breakdown has not been disclosed. Microsoft, for its part, said that the shooter became the most downloaded game in April on the Xbox, having managed to attract “millions of gamers” by subscription.
