Speedrunners are crazy about an accidentally discovered glitch in Metal Gear Solid

Streamer under the nickname Boba during the passage of the first part Metal gear solid discovered a glitch that allows you to skip a small segment of the game. A chance find in the cult stealth action game has thrilled the speedrunner community, for whom every second is extremely important in the matter of breaking records.

Found almost 23 years after the game’s premiere, the shortcut is halfway at the top of the communications tower, and to activate it, Solid Snake needs to stand in front of a closed door and fly away from the damage received by an enemy soldier.

Speedrunners thank the streamer for discovering the glitch and note that it saves almost three minutes, which has already become a reason for some to break existing records.

In the circle of speedrunners, this method of skipping the tower was called “boba skip” – in honor of the streamer’s nickname, and was also improved by detonating a grenade, so now there is no need to wait for opponents to shoot at Snake.

“Guys, it looks like MGS1 speedruns are back on the menu,” Jaguar King speedrunner tweeted.

One of the most recent records for the passage of Metal Gear Solid from a player with the nickname NickRPGreen, who finished the game in less than half an hour.
