“Sales are many times lower than Switch and Xbox One”: Publisher Nowhere Prophet complained about PlayStation 4

Representative No More Robots Mike Rose expressed disappointment at the extremely low demand for the recently released indie single-player card game Nowhere prophet in the console version Playstation 4… He wrote about this in his Twitter

According to Rose, PS4 version of Nowhere Prophet sold just 5% of initial sales of Switch version in the first weekend.… He noted that he heard from colleagues in the shop that the market for “small games” from indie developers on the Sony console is not in the best condition, but did not expect it to be “that bad.”

“If you’re wondering if small games are currently being sold on PlayStation 4 … At the end of the first weekend, the PS4 version of our game made only 5% of the initial sales of the Switch version … That is, we sold almost nothing on PS4!”

Rose added that No More Robots will likely no longer even communicate with PlayStation 4

“Honestly, I doubt that after this we will release anything else on the PlayStation 4. I heard that everything is bad, but heck, the numbers are generally far from the sales that we achieve on the Switch and Xbox One.”

Earlier this year, Sony launched the PlayStation Indies Initiative to support indie developers, and began to pay more attention to the games of small independent teams in her presentations. The department is headed by a PlayStation veteran Shuhei Yoshida
