Russia has approved a list of mandatory domestic applications for electronics sold – it contains ICQ

The government of the Russian Federation has published an order No. 3704-r, according to which manufacturers of smartphones, smart TVs and computers must distribute their products in the country with preinstalled domestic applications from the approved list.

Smartphones will be sold with the following pre-installed apps:

  • “Yandex browser”;
  • Yandex;
  • Yandex.Disk;
  • “Yandex maps”;
  • “Mail.ru Mail”;
  • ICQ;
  • voice assistant “Marusya”;
  • “Mail.ru News”;
  • OK Live;
  • “In contact with”;
  • “Classmates”;
  • MirPay;
  • “State services”;
  • “MyOffice Documents”;
  • Kaspersky Internet Security;
  • Applist.ru (aggregator of socially significant domestic Internet resources).

Smart TVs will include the following services:

  • Wink;
  • ivi;
  • “First”;
  • “KinoPoisk”;
  • Okko;
  • Mor.Tv;
  • Premier;
  • “Watching”;
  • “NTV”;
  • START;
  • Yandex (Search).

Only one must have been approved for Windows PCs – “MyOffice Standard. Home version “

The order will come into force on April 1, 2023.
