Rumors are lying: Activision gave an answer about the remaster of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Remaster Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 not in development, according to the official comment of one of the representatives Activision

The first rumors about an updated shooter appeared last year and again made themselves felt a few months ago. Reports claimed that the re-release of Modern Warfare 3 will offer a remastered single player campaign without multiplayer and be a month-long PlayStation exclusive, as happened with the re-release of MW2.

However, in the statement for the portal Charlie INTEL the company issued a rebuttal

“There is no remaster of Modern Warfare 3, be it singleplayer or multiplayer. Any messages to the contrary are not true.”

So far, Activision has only updated two MWs. The first was Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, which received a re-release alongside Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare in 2016. The remaster included both the campaign and all multiplayer modes, while the updated version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which appeared in 2023, did without multiplayer.

Now Activision is preparing to release a full-fledged new part of Call of Duty, scheduled for release this year. The project is supervised by the team Sledgehammer Games, previously featured in Advanced Warfare and WWII.
