“Respect millions of players who know every fang” – Blizzard about changing orcs in Warcraft III: Reforged

Blizzard Entertainment showcased modified orc army models in Warcraft III: Reforged. In the “Conversations by the Anvil” section, she showed the main characters of the faction – Drek’Tara, Samuro, Kairn, Vol’jina and some units.

The designers planned to emphasize the strength of the Orc army by updating the textures and replacing the old low-poly models. Lead producer Pete Stillwell said that the developers were especially attentive to the changes in the heroes of the Horde.

Pete Stillwell:

“Our artists respected the task of complementing the sacred pantheon of the heroes of the Horde. The task was to respect the millions of players who know every fang, mustache and wrinkle on the faces of these warriors. ”

Blizzard said that during the update each model paid more attention. According to the developers, Drek’Tara was especially careful about the decorative plume, by which many users recognize this character. Vol’jin was added war paint, and Cairn was enhanced in detail on the ceremonial blade and totems.

Warcraft III: Reforged will be released on January 29, 2023 at 2:00 Moscow time. Blizzard also previously revealed how the undead and Lordaeron Alliance models have changed.
