Resident Evil: Village demo available on PC – screenshots, gameplay and a way to reset the timer

A gameplay demo is now available on all platforms Resident Evil: Village… The demo version offers two segments in the village and the castle for passing, but they give you only 60 minutes to play it – this is the limit of the in-game timer.

And if on consoles the limitation cannot be bypassed in any way, then PC users found a working way to do this almost immediately… Required:

  1. Disable cloud saves for demo;
  2. Download the Steam Achievement Manager utility;
  3. Delete local save files (<Диск>: Steam userdata <Ваш Steam ID> 1541780 remote win64_save)
  4. Launch Steam SAM;
  5. Reset achievements and statistics of the Resident Evil: Village demo through the program.

After that, the timer will be reset and the players will have another 1 hour, but after the time has elapsed, the process will have to be repeated. Also, along with the time, all settings are rolled back. In order not to perform the settings over a new one each time, after resetting the timer, you need to go to the demo, configure the necessary parameters, close the game and make a copy of the data00-1.bin file (this is where the settings are stored). On subsequent resets, you will need to repeat the third step and add the copied file to the folder.

By the way, if anyone is interested, this is what the Village demo looks like. on PC with maximum settings and 4K raytracing:
