Remedy clarified the status of the development of the AAA game for Epic Games – rumored to be Alan Wake 2

March 2023 Remedy Entertainment entered into a partnership agreement with Epic Games by the publisher of two games that take place in the same universe as Control. For the studio, this deal has become very profitable. Epic Games will fully fund development projects, and all proceeds will be split 50/50. In addition, Remedy will retain full creative control and ownership of the IP.

As part of the report for the first quarter of this year, the CEO of Remedy Thero Virtala clarified the status of these games. In addition, Remedy is working on three more titles in parallel. The information on them is as follows:

  • Single player campaign for the CrossfireX shooter – coming out in 2023;
  • Vanguard is a shareware cooperative game – development is moving at a fast pace. The team has already decided on many central elements of the gameplay, internal testing continues and the next stage of closed external gameplay testing begins;
  • An “exciting” project from the Control team – production is in its early stages. Rumored to be created with the support of Sony;

According to Virtala, by the end of March 2023, Remedy’s staff increased to 281 people. The studio continues to evolve and pass almost all of the staff to develop new projects.
