Rasputin’s new adventures: Double Fine confirms Psychonauts 2 summer show

As part of the show on Thursday Inside xbox company Microsoft confirmed that in July, fans will be able to get acquainted with the first games from internal studios for Xbox Series X. Among them Double finewho is currently developing an adventure platformer Psychonauts 2.

Studio founder Tim Shafer posted on YouTube a new short video about the life of the team, and on the crowdfunding platform Fig presented updated information relative to the sequel. He noted that the developers initially intended to show “colorful, exciting and psychedelic” gameplay at the largest gaming exhibition E3 2023but its conduct was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, Schaefer confirmed that plans for July “in force again”.

“As our good friend Matt Boothie said on Thursday at Inside Xbox 20/20, a show of games from Xbox Game Studios will be organized this July, and, yes, Psychonauts 2 will be part of it.”

In the video, the founder Double fine also talked about how the team adapted to the development of the project, being outside the studio because of COVID-19, and showed small gameplay cuts from the game. The video turned out to be entertaining, because Tim, in his usual manner, jokes and maintains a positive attitude that is transmitted to his entire team.

In the center of the plot Psychonauts 2Rasputin Aquato (Time), who, 10 years after the events of the first game, will visit the headquarters of the organization (it will serve as a hub for traveling through other people’s brains) and realizes its importance within the company.

Psychonauts 2 created for Playstation 4, Xbox one and PC since 2015. The release is scheduled for 2023.
