Raspberry Pi 4 received a version of 8 GB of RAM – review

Almost a year ago, a single-board computer entered the market. Raspberry pi 4. At the moment, developers have sold almost three million devices. At the moment there are three versions of the “four” on the market – 1, 2 and 4 GB of RAM. But now a modification of 8 GB has appeared in the company store.

The bottom line is that the processor BCM2711, which is used in the Raspberry Pi 4, can address up to 16 GB of memory, so the increase in volume is quite logical and expected. In terms of the layout of the board, nothing fundamentally changed, although minor power improvements were made.

The developers also said that they released an early beta version of their own 64-bit image of the operating system. It is built on the basis of the ported version of Debian arm64, but from the point of view of software it is no different from the 32-bit counterpart.

The cost of new items is $ 75 (a little over 5200 rubles at the rate, excluding taxes).
