PlayStation Plus subscribers decline for the first time – Sony blames pandemic

Today Sony published financial results for the first quarter of 2023, noting the growth of service subscribers Playstation Plus from 45 to 46.3 million over the same period last year. However, in the IV quarter of 2023, their number was 47.6 million, which is 1.3 million more than the current figures.

CFO as the reason Hiroki Totoki called the pandemic and self-isolation, due to which the number of subscribers Playstation Plus and the total number of monthly active users grew last year and declined in the first quarter of this year.

Sony analyzed the situation and noted that there is no cause for concern yet. The company will continue to monitor the situation in the coming months, and then draw the necessary conclusions.
