PlayStation in flight? Potential sequels to The Outer Worlds will be published by Obsidian and Microsoft

The president Take-Two Karl Slatoff confirmed in a briefing with investors that any possible follow-up The outer worlds will be published by Obsidian Entertainment and Microsoft

According to him, the band’s label Private Division retains the publishing rights to the original The Outer Worlds under previous agreements with Obsidian, including the release of the Murder on Eridanos expansion for the Switch version of the game, however, the company will no longer have anything to do with future sequels, if such happen.

“Future releases of the franchise will be published by Obsidian and Microsoft, and we look forward to seeing where they continue to take the series.”

Officially, Obsidian has not yet announced work on a sequel to The Outer Worlds, but said that it is interested in a trilogy, while insiders said back in October that the sequel was already in preliminary development.
