Open testing of the Russian operating system “Aurora” has begun

Developers of the domestic mobile operating system “Aurora” are invited to an open beta test. The Open Mobile Platform company, owned by Rostelecom, has launched registration on the project’s official website. The only condition for participation is residence in Moscow.

The necessary measure is due to the fact that everyone will be given an INOI R7 smartphone supporting Aurora for a while. In addition to this model, a number of other mobile devices are participating in testing, the list of which will expand over time.

Updates for the early version will be released on average every two weeks. Aurora comes with a pre-installed set of standard applications and the ability to install new ones from the Aurora Market store.

The development of the Russian mobile operating system has been going on since 2016. The “Authors” is based on Sailfish OS.
