Nintendo Japan to stop servicing 3DS and 3DS XL due to lack of spare parts

Company Nintendo announced the termination of official repair services 3DS and 3DS XL in Japan. The reason was the lack of necessary spare parts.

The original Nintendo 3DS launched in its home market in February 2011, and the larger model Nintendo 3DS XL (referred to as LL in Japan) appeared in July 2012. Since last year, production of all consoles in the 3DS range has been officially discontinued.

According to the Nintendo Japan website, acceptance for repair in official service centers for all color variations 3DS (CTR-001) and 3DS XL (SPR-001) will end March 31st… After that, the company will no longer service these devices.

The exceptions will be New Nintendo 3DS, New Nintendo 3DS XL, Nintendo 2DS and New Nintendo 2DS XL.
