Nintendo aims to produce a record 30 million Switch within a year – review addiction

Edition Nikkei Asia reports that Nintendo plans to produce a record 30 million Switch by the end of March 2023. If this happens, then the total circulation of the console in just 5 years will exceed 110 million – this is more than Wii sales.

By the end of the year, a 4K version of the console will also appear on the market, and the general line will consist of three systems:

  • Switch – standard hybrid model
  • Switch Lite – strictly portable model
  • Switch “Pro” is a more powerful hybrid model with 4K.

The current Nintendo console only sells better every year – for example, for 3 fiscal quarters last year (data for the last one is still unknown) Switch sales have already surpassed the results for 4 fiscal quarters of 2023.

Annual figures for financial years:

  • 2017 – 2.74 million consoles
  • 2018 – 15.05 million consoles
  • 2019 – 16.95 million consoles
  • 2020 – 21.03 million consoles
  • 2023 – 24.1 million consoles
  • 2023 – plan for 30 million consoles.
