NieR Replicant tested on consoles – Xbox favorites

A couple of YouTube channels tested NieR Replicant on consoles – without new-generation systems, where the game is only available for backward compatibility, but thanks to the tests, the results are clear there too.

All versions in most cases reach 60 FPS without problems, however, in rare situations on the base PS4 and Xbox One, drops of up to 45 and 52 FPS can occur, respectively. On average, each platform has 99% of the time above 60 FPS.

Technical details

  • Xbox One – $ 648 to $ 810
  • PS4 – 810p to 1080p
  • PS4 Pro – 846p to 1080p (drops below 1080p are rare)
  • Xbox One X – 1080p to 1440p (drops below 1440p are rare)
  • PS5 – 1080p
  • Xbox Series S – 810r
  • Xbox Series X – 1440r.

It is noteworthy that on PS4 Pro and PS5 the game interface is rendered in 1080p, while on Xbox One X and Xbox Series X it is already in 4K.

There are other differences between the versions:

  • better texture filtering on Xbox;
  • on One X (and Series X), higher shadow rendering range;
  • higher shadow quality on PS4 Pro (and PS5) and One X (and Series X);
  • downloads are faster on the One X and PS4 Pro than on the One S and PS4 – most likely even faster on the PS5 and Series.

NieR Replicant was released on April 23rd on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The latter, as in the case NieR: Automata, not very lucky with the technical state of the project – it has a number of problems that are already being actively corrected in the community.

And the remake-remaster itself was greeted warmly – much better than the original at the time.
