Mass Effect Legendary Edition sales far exceed expectations and more, according to EA report

EA conducted a quarterly report – the annual figures fell by several percent, but turned out to be higher than the expectations of the company itself. A year earlier, the entire segment grew due to global quarantine.

Along with this sales Mass Effect Legendary Edition and It Takes Two turned out to be above expectations, although the publisher did not disclose the exact results. EA especially notes the Mass Effect remaster, which has managed to “go far beyond expectations.”

EA CEO Andrew Wilson confirmed that thanks to the full release Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on PS5 and Xbox Series, old players returned and new ones joined the action. The publisher will continue to invest in this series – just like Mass Effect.

Along with this, Wilson said that it makes sense to release a new Battlefield approximately every 2 years, however, they are also trying to consider the series as a full-fledged service and free admission (numerous rumors claim that BF 2042 will have a shareware component).

Other data from the report

  • FIFA 21 has over 31 million players
  • On average, about 13 million people play Apex Legends per week
  • the audience is very happy with the announcements of Battlefield 2042 and the Dead Space remake.
