Katy Perry has released a Pokemon music video for the 25th anniversary of the franchise

Popular American pop singer Katy Perry released a video for a music track “Electric“prepared in collaboration with Pokémon for the 25th anniversary of the franchise.

In the video, Perry teams up with Pikachu and travels back in time to nudge his young self towards fulfilling her dream of becoming a singer. The video was directed by the director of the Pixar cartoon “Raia and the Last Dragon” Carlos Lopez Estrada

“The themes of this song – steadfastness and kindling my inner light – have guided me throughout my life and paralleled the stories and characters of Pokémon,” said Perry.

“Pikachu is an evolved form of Pichu, so in the video you see a young version of me with Pichu and me from the present with Pikachu. We both evolve, but keep a sense of playfulness.”
