Japanese Control fan makes Finnish sauna simulator Sauna 2000 – review

On the Kickstarter collects money to create a game Sauna 2000, a 1990s Finnish sauna simulator. For success, the game lacks just a few hundred dollars: out of the required 9.9 thousand, 9.3 were collected, and 19 days are left until the final.

The game is being developed by independent developer and director Amos Sorry. He has been living and working in Tokyo for a long time, but he himself is from Finland, so he knows firsthand about saunas. The author of the game himself admits that the nostalgic spirit woke up in him during the passage of the game Control finnish studio Remedy.

To make the game, the creator had to learn programming from scratch. The result was a demo version of Sauna 2000, which was included in the collection Haunted Demo-Disc 2023. And Sorry himself made the trailer for this collection.

The author presents the future game Sauna 2000 as a sandbox with a mass of objects and opportunities for interaction. Depending on our behavior, everything can end in a variety of ways: many different endings are promised.

When the game comes out, it is unknown. But while you can get acquainted with her demo version, she gets good reviews.
