Today, February 28, the biggest eSports event of the year, the tournament, opens Intel Extreme Masters. However, the stadium “Spodek»In the Polish city of Katowice, spectators will not be allowed.
Silesian Governor hours before opening IEM Katowice 2023 ordered to cancel all mass events in connection with dynamic changes in the epidemiological situation. And for the first time in history, the tournament will be held without fans.
All purchased tickets to the event will be returned, in addition, if a set of souvenirs was supposed to be on the tickets, it will be sent free of charge, as a gift, to everyone who fills out the appropriate form. Unfortunately, the governor’s order is unlikely to be considered a reason to return money for flights and hotels.
As previously planned, all tournament events will be broadcast live on all channels. IEM Katowice 2023 closes March 1.
So far, no cases of coronavirus infection have been officially recorded in Poland. So it is not known what was the reason for making such a decision.
