Insider: Microsoft deal won’t stop Hideo Kojima from working with other companies

By subscribing to creating an exclusive for the Xbox ecosystem, Japanese game designer Hideo Kojima will be able to work in parallel on other games with other publishers. According to the journalist VentureBeat, the conclusion of the deal between Microsoft and Kojima Productions is at the final stage – the parties have started to formalize the papers, while the lawyers are finishing discussing the related subtleties. The parties have previously signed an “agreement of intent to work together.” Sources say that the collapse of the deal at this stage is unlikely.

As Grubb noted, the treaty implies the release of a new original game based on Microsoft cloud technologies. However, there is currently no exact information about the project. The insider explained that the parties have yet to discuss the exact artistic and creative guidelines for the upcoming development.

In addition, Jeff Grubb added that he cannot yet say for sure whether Microsoft representatives are going to invest in the development of Kojima Productions.

Earlier, an insider said that known for creating Portal game designer Kimberly swift, recently transferred to the cloud division Microsoft from the team Google Stadia, will provide support to third-party studios, and the first of them supposedly should be Kojima Productions.

According to rumors, initially Hideo Kojima hoped to launch his new cloud-based project, presumably a horror, backed by Google on Stadia, but these plans were not destined to come true.
