Hideo Kojima refuses to call Death Stranding’s new PlayStation 5 “directorial”

September 24th on PS5 will be released Death Stranding: Director’s Cut, however, the creator of the project Hideo Kojime don’t like the selected subtitle. The developer took to Twitter to express his thoughts on the upcoming game.

Kojima stated that he did not agree to call the updated Death Stranding “directorial”, since nothing was originally cut from the game

“The director’s cut in the movie includes additional content from an abridged version, which was released reluctantly because the director was not allowed to edit the film, or because the screening time had to be shortened,” Kojima writes on social media.

Kojima noted that Death Stranding for PS5 is better called “Director’s Plus” due to the additional content that was created after the release.

Death Stranding Director’s Cut is available for pre-order. In the Russian PS Store, they ask for 3.599 rubles for the standard edition, and 4.299 rubles for the digital extended edition.

Owners of the original PS4 game will be able to upgrade to the Digital Deluxe Edition for $ 10 / € after release.

Earlier it was reported that the size of Death Stranding: Director’s Cut without the patch of the first day will be 68.627 GB.
