Hacker stole $ 600 million to get it back later – review addiction

A few days ago, the Internet Protocol was attacked by a hacker Poly networkand a total of more than $ 610 million was stolen from him. This became the largest cryptocurrency theft in history.

The Poly Network platform, which is engaged in the transfer of cryptocurrencies between various networks, turned to the hacker with a proposal to return everything in an amicable way. She noted that the stolen money belonged to tens of thousands of innocent people.

It is unknown if this call played a role, but an unknown hacker who called himself Mr. White Hat (Mr. White Hat) really began to return the stolen money. He did this in separate transfers in various cryptocurrencies, mainly in Ethereum.

A few hours ago, Poly Network announced that all of the stolen assets had returned back. And now the company will seriously engage in security checks, patching vulnerabilities and returning the kidnapped to the victim.
In a message attached to one of the translations, the mysterious kidnapper confessed that he did it purely for fun and benefit: he discovered a vulnerability in Poly Network’s vaunted security systems and decided to check if they are as good as they promise to customers.

He considered informing the team about the loophole he had found, but decided that he could not trust anyone. Therefore, he kept other people’s money in a safe place, hoping that the incident would teach their owners something. And he ended his message with almost the words of Batman: “I prefer to save the world by staying in the shadows“.

Company Security Department SlowMist claims that he was able to get on the trail of the hacker: his mailing address, IP and digital “fingerprints” of devices were obtained. However, identifying and prosecuting “Batman in the White Hat” will not be easy.
