God of War: Ragnarok on PS5 will play as Kratos’ son? Developers are inspired by The Last of Us 2

Studio concept artist Samuel Matthews recently appeared on the God of War podcast, where he talked about the potential for God of War: Ragnarok more or less allows players to take over the reins of Atreus, much like Abby from The Last of Us: Part II

According to Matthews, God of War 2018 was heavily influenced by the original The Last of Us, and its sequel now serves as the inspiration for Kratos’ next story. Matthews noted that Santa Monica Studio is considering doing what Naughty Dog did with Ellie and Abby in The Last of Us 2, where gamers could play characters with two different perspectives.

According to initial plans, the sequel to God of War should be released this year, but earlier Jason Schreier reported that a few months ago Sony has already postponed the internal release date of the game and will announce it when it is ready to talk about the project again.
