God of War Development Lead Corey Barlog: Lack of Regional Pricing is a Big Problem

American game designer Corey Barlogknown for working on the iconic franchise God of war, dissatisfied with the regional pricing policy of the company Sony Interactive Entertainment… In particular, the developer expressed disappointment due to higher prices for PS Plus, as well as the high cost of the PlayStation 5 and games for it in Brazil

It all started with the fact that Corey Barlog published a note on his personal Twitter blog, where he shared his own opinion on the availability of entertainment content. The game designer believes that in an ideal world, the widest audience should have the opportunity to experience games.

“Games are for everyone and everyone. At least that’s the kind of world I would like to live in,” wrote Corey Barlog.

However, in response to Barlog’s initial posting, one user added that in the case of Brazil and the PlayStation 5 console, the availability of games is a very difficult issue, primarily related to the cost of the system itself. Within the country, not everyone can afford it.

“It’s a little tricky to look at things from that angle, considering the money issue. In Brazil, the PS5 costs a whopping 5 minimum wages. This console is not for everyone.”

Cory Barlog did not object to the presented argument, agreeing that the lack of regional prices for games and consoles is a big problem.

The talk about the pricing of Sony products in Brazil comes amid a lot of domestic resonance – not so long ago, the platform owner raised the cost of games in the region and increased the price of the PlayStation Plus subscription, which caused strong discontent among Brazilian gamers
