for older Intel Comet Lake-S processors may require LSS – review

As expected, Intel officially unveils its next generation of processors in late April. However, there is already evidence that the flagship model Core i9-10900F It will be very hot and gluttonous.

Resource user Weibo under the pseudonym WolStame published information according to which the processor in stress testing mode can consume more than 200 watts and heat up to almost 90 degrees. At the same time, all its cores operate at a frequency of 4.5 GHz, although the base indicator is only 2.8 GHz for this model.

Obviously, the i9-10900F will need serious cooling down to the LMS. It is also important to note that the model with the F index has a locked multiplier, which limits the overclocking potential. But the Core i9-10900K is deprived of such limits, therefore it will probably require an even more powerful temperature control system.

It is clear that complete with processors SJO should not be expected. And this means that they will have to be bought separately. By the way, it was previously reported that 10900K can consume up to 300 watts of power. Previously, similar “appetites” could boast except AMD FX-9370 and Fx-9590.
