“Fix the game already!” Horizon Zero Dawn for PC removed the snow warp present on PS4

On the Reddit noticed that in version Horizon zero dawn for PC there are no snow deformation effects that were available in the add-on Frozen wilds on the PS4

The northern area of the map, which Aloy is exploring, is covered with snowdrifts, and the snow lying on the paths behaves very realistically. Walking along it, the heroine falls through and gets stuck, and deep footprints appear in the snow, under which you can see the grass.

On PC, the snow is static, leaving a barely noticeable footprint from Aloy’s feet. On the surface of the snowdrifts, you can jump and slide without falling through, and you can generally forget about the snow flakes flying in all directions.

Why the studio in charge of the port Virtuous and Guerrilla Games decided to remove these effects from the PC version, it is unknown. Moreover, the matter is clearly not in the settings – the user showed that he had everything turned on to the maximum.

Perhaps the problem lies in the general non-optimization of the game, which will be fixed by patches. This is supported, for example, by another detail – Aloy’s hair behaves incorrectly when the game is running at a speed higher than 30 frames per second.

It has previously been suggested that the PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn was debug. However, it was soon refuted.

Users urge developers to fix the game as soon as possible.
