Dragons, Cyclone, New IPs and Spin-Offs: Fresh Details on Four Microsoft Exclusives from Major Third-Party Studios – Media

Last week, Windows Central revealed that in Xbox Game Studios Publishing are working on four major exclusives with renowned third-party studios. In a recent podcast episode GameOnDaily edition editor Miles Dompieu shared additional details of what is known about these titles

  • None of these are Hideo Kojima’s rumored games for Microsoft;
  • The project codenamed Cyclone has advanced the most in development. It will probably be announced soon;
  • Dragons in February teaserl Jez Corden, associated with another of these projects;
  • Three of them are created under new IP, and the fourth is a spin-off of an existing franchise. Two are described as “very, very large”. Project Cyclone is one of them.
  • Project Cyclone is being developed by a “very cool team”. The game will unfold in an ambitious, interconnected world and offer a highly unique multiplayer experience that is heavily emphasized. This is not a third person shooter or an MMO, but something else.
  • Previously, the creators of Project Cyclone did not focus on multiplayer titles.

Insider Klobrille in turn added from myself that some of the news from the past week, seemingly boring at first glance, is in fact the beginning of something ambitious and has a direct relationship to the Xbox… He noted that we are talking about a specific game and asked to be reminded of this after 28 months. There are still several years before the release of the project.

Perhaps we are talking about the opening of a third development office IO Interactive in Barcelona. In a press release, it was announced that the new team would join the development of the studio’s current projects, including Hitman, Project 007 and a certain new IP, and in an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, the head of IOI Hakan Abrak noted that there are great chances that one of the future games studios will be published by a third-party publisher.
