Demon’s Souls remake for PlayStation 5 will not have native ray tracing support

Remake Demon’s Souls for console Playstation 5 will not support ray tracing. This in a conversation with the portal Level Up was confirmed by the creative director of the game Gavin Moore.

According to him, PS5 is quite capable of pulling ray tracing effects, however, due to the tight deadlines for their implementation Bluepoint games would have to transfer part of the resources and sacrifice other components of the game, which the studio did not do.

“Like any other graphics enhancement, ray tracing is costly. If we were to implement ray tracing, then we would have had to give up something else because the development time was limited.”

Moore added that ray tracing was not part of their plans from the beginning of development, as the team wanted to focus on the setting and characters, however ray tracing was mentioned in an announcing blog post. Playstation… The day after the game was shown, Sony edited the description to remove information about it. The same thing happened with the regime Fractured Mode

That said, the lack of ray tracing shouldn’t be a big issue considering how well the updated game looked without it in the last gameplay demo.

The release of the project will take place simultaneously with the start of the PlayStation 5. In Russia, sales of the console will begin 19th November
