Cyberpunk 2077 Gets CD Projekt Gold, But It Could Be Even Better

In anticipation of the publication of a full report on its work in 2023, the company CD Projekt reported that over the past twelve months, she managed to get a record consolidated revenue – 2.14 billion PLN ($ 562 million). Role-playing helped to achieve such indicators. Cyberpunk 2077

The previous annual record for CD Projekt’s revenue was recorded in 2015, when it came out The Witcher 3: Wild HuntThen the Poles earned 798 million zlotys ($ 210 million)

As for the net profit, in 2023 it also turned out to be a record for CD Projekt – PLN 1.15 billion ($ 303 million). For comparison, in 2015 the company received 352 million zlotys ($ 89 million).

The difference seems even more impressive when you consider that the Witcher game was released in May, and Cyberpunk 2077 in December, when there was much less time left until the end of the fiscal year. At the same time, Cyberpunk 2077 fully paid off even before the premiere, selling for pre-orders with a circulation of 8 million copies.

Analysts have already commented on the CD Projekt preliminary report and noted that it would have been even more impressive if it had not been for the scandal surrounding the console versions of Cyberpunk 2077. In December, the game was removed from the PS Store, which hit sales.

The future of Cyberpunk 2077 also remains in question. CD Projekt is working on fixing the game and hopes that it will be sold for many more years by analogy with “The Witcher 3”, but by now it has left all charts, including computer ones.

CD Projekt’s full year performance report will be released next week.
