Chris Evans can play in a remake of the “Shop of Horrors” – review

The media report that Chris Evans (The Avengers) is negotiating a role in the new version “Shop of horrors”.

The original picture of Roger Corman was released in 1960, after which in the 80s it was adapted into a rather popular musical. And already in 1986, another version of this story appeared in the cinema, the main role in which was played by Rick Moranis (“Honey, I reduced the children”).

The plot revolves around the seller-florist Seymour, who secretly in love with Audrey’s colleague and suffers under the heel of his boss. Once he finds a new kind of plant, thanks to which the guy becomes a celebrity. But things get complicated, because the plant begins to require human blood as food, and then the whole people themselves.

Evans should play Audrey’s guy, a dentist with sadistic inclinations who enjoys his profession. In the 1986 film, this role was played by Steve Martin.

Negotiations regarding the lead roles are with Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Theron Edgerton (Rocketman). The director of the new version is Greg Berlanti (“With Love, Simon”), filming should start this summer.
