Bloomberg: Netflix subscribers will have access to video games in 2023

On streaming service Netflix video games will be released from 2023. This is reported by the sources of the publication Bloomberg

On July 14, the platform’s management announced that Mike Verdu appointed as vice president of game development. He will report directly to the COO Greg Peters

Verdu previously worked as Chief Creative Officer Zynga, senior vice president EA Mobile and vice president Facebook (was responsible for contacts with game developers for Oculus Rift).

According to preliminary data, next year a new section dedicated to video games will appear on Netflix. The company does not plan to introduce any additional tariffs yet.

In the near future, the streaming platform will begin to form its own gaming team, for which Mike Verdu will be responsible. You can already find related jobs on the Netflix website.

In 2023, the platform faced a slowdown in audience growth, which may be due to the pandemic and “streaming war”. The video game business could attract new subscribers and also justify further price increases.

Previously, interactive TV shows were released on Netflix. You can select “Black mirror. Bundersnatch“(Black Mirror: Bandersnatch) and a special adaptation of the first season of the game Minecraft: Story Mode, which she was engaged in before closing.
