“Beware, scammers are working”: Resident Evil Village developers reach out to players

Company Capcom warned players about scammers who started sending out to fans Resident evil emails inviting you to get early access to the new horror demo Resident evil village… The fake emails on behalf of the publisher are titled “Capcom.com no reply early access invitations”.

“We want to confirm that these emails are NOT from Capcom. If you receive such a message, please DO NOT upload or reply to any files. Delete it immediately!”

Capcom believes that the attackers who organized the mailing are engaged in phishing, a scam that aims to obtain personal information from users.

Earlier this year, Capcom itself was hit by hackers. They stole over 2 TB of confidential data from its servers, including a release plan for several years in advance and even plot details of upcoming games.

So far Capcom has released only one demo Resident evil village… It tells a side story that won’t appear in the main game and is available exclusively on Playstation 5 (our impressions).

The second demo should appear on all platforms before the horror release in May 2023
