Between Revolution and Self-Repetition: Watch Dogs: Legion Review

A huge amount of work has been done with the voice acting and staging of the plot scenes. Each of the characters chosen by you in the process of passing from a thousand random options has its own accent, timbre of voice and facial expressions. True, the intonation in all cases remains the same, but the scope of the work done is really impressive. Most likely, a new generation neural network was responsible for the voice acting, launching scripts and creating a connection between the profession and skills, which explains some strange anomalies, like fashion designers who look like homeless people in the game. Although this also happens in our world – just look at Vivienne westwood

After the release of the game, it will be interesting to listen to the Russian voice acting, which at the time of the distribution of the review version was not available. As for the Russian translation with subtitles, it can rather be called tolerant. Some of the original jokes and idioms are lost, and the speech in the text version becomes more simplified and bland in comparison with the original.

The gameplay assumes quite similar mechanics. You arrive at the point of assignment, search for an entrance to the desired floor in the protected area for a long time, receive data from the server and leave the dangerous area. And here it seems like the unique capabilities of agents advertised during numerous presentations should have worked, but in fact everything is decided by an ordinary spider-robot. Your character has a minimal set of gadgets that he can use to defend or infiltrate enemy territory. There are nail guns, non-lethal weapons, the possibility of hacking combat drones, and even a wrench, but the most successful and indispensable is the spider robot, which after pumping a double jump turns into an ideal solution to any problems. You just make your way to the border of the danger zone, throw the spider over the fence, and then, using hacking and air ducts, get to the necessary points and databases, sometimes switching to small flying drones.

In combination with a manual robot, an agent in a work overalls perfectly functions, which can, controlling a flying drone from above, throw off a spider and remain unnoticed. Enemies just don’t look at the sky. Of course, there are stages where the object is inside the building, but even there the same combination perfectly helps to get around all the difficulties. Yes, you can shoot enemy agents in the head, quietly eliminate in stealth, intercept enemy robots, but why all this if there is a flying drone and a spider?

You can pump equipment in exchange for technical experience points, which can be found in secluded places (mostly high) in different parts of the city or obtained as a result of a task.

Usually the next mission is located as far as possible from the previous one, and here an unmanned vehicle comes to the rescue, which will take you to the point while you are drinking tea. But sometimes the drone gets stuck, gets into accidents, and when you return after lunch you can see a picture with some wild destruction.

Of course, by opening the entire map, you can use the fast movement points, but it is still safe by car. During recruitment cutscenes, your new agent runs the risk of falling off the roof and ending up in the hospital simply because of an engine glitch.
